A federal judge has begun hearing testimony from several former Trump campaign officials who allege that the president attempted to cover up his ties to Russia.
The testimony comes as the House is set to vote to impeach Trump over allegations of collusion between his campaign and Russia.
Trump is set for a House vote on Monday.
The White House on Thursday released a statement saying Trump was confident that the House would vote to convict him.
The president, who has denied any collusion with Russia, was confident in the outcome of the House Judiciary Committee hearing and he will continue to do so, the statement read.
The House Judiciary Subcommittee on Crime, Terrorism, Homeland Security and Investigations will hold a hearing on Friday to hear from witnesses on Russia’s alleged interference in the 2016 presidential election, which included hacking into Democratic Party computers and leaking of Democratic Party emails.
